There is a new scheme called Home Access to help improve the education of children aged between 7 and 14 years by providing them with money towards a computer at home to help them with their school work.
If you are a family on a low income and in receipt of benefits such as:
And your child is in full-time education, the government are offering a grant towards the cost of a computer and software which also includes free internet access for a year.
You can visit the Home Access site to see whether you can get a grant, and find information on how to apply.

A home to around 1000 people, Lower Falinge is a housing estate at the heart of Rochdale.
The Community Base, 238 Newstead, is host to a variety of different groups delivering activities to those living on Lower Falinge.
These activities include Hair Braiding, a Gardening Club, a Youth Group, Girl's Group, Women's Group, and more!

Nestac act as an advice and information service to those people who find difficulties in dealing with HIV, understanding laws, finding the right places to live and getting money to live with. Nestac is often the first point of contact for many frightened and confused people.
From its premises in Falinge Community base (237 Newstead), Nestac runs groups for children and young people, English, computer, hair-braiding and dance classes.
We also provide social activities as projects and promote cultural integration but also promote African culture within the wider community.
